Time holds no meaning
And death is but a word
For I am death
In cold, living flesh
A pale image of myself
Yet, a beautiful beast
For I am no longer human
I am one of the deceased

Evil that does not recognize itself
With flesh as cold and pale as death
And fierce eyes watching, waiting

Eternity is a consequence
And fear disturbs me not
For I am fear
Your every nightmare
Content among darkness
Shadows are where I reside
For natural light exposure
Means death a second time

Evil that does not recognize itself
Death housed in live flesh
A predator hunting for my prey, anticipating

Coffins are a necessity
And feeding brings me peace
For blood is what I crave
Sustenance for my life
Darkness has fallen
And now I must rise
For the time has come
To feast upon those I despise

After I saw jezebel's "Vampire Really Finished", I couldn't get it out of my head. I could stare at it for hours...and I finally decided to write something, so here it is.

Update
I have had a few people ask what was going through my mind when I wrote this, so I decided to put it in the description.

I was in a pretty dark mood and just tired of people in general. I was surfing devart and had Queen of the Damned playing on my tv when I came across ` jezebels "Vampire Really Fininshed". I decided to use a vampire to express what I was feeling at the time since vampires feast upon human beings to keep themselves alive.

I kind of think it is the same thing in real life. People feast upon each other, figuratively speaking. They use each other to get what they want and some have no respect for those that they use. All they possess is a selfish nature, they refuse to give anything in return, and they will step on whoever is in their way to get where they want to be. In the poem...I use a vampire because it symbolizes those who don't say anything to those who use them but in the end they get their 'revenge'. Hope that it explains it a little better.

Sweeet! :D I don't know the movie you are referring to but...

"Evil that does not recognize itself
Death housed in live flesh
A predator hunting for my prey, anticipating"

...is interesting. These three lines stopped my in the poem and had me wondering more about it.
